The artworks in the series
Straight White Working Class
are derived from conversations with 18 men in the post-industrial cities of Leeds and Newcastle in the UK and Philadelphia and Detroit in the USA.

The texts are based on verbatim comments from the men and all images in the series were gifted to the artist by the men from their personal archives.

At a Urinal I Prefer Someone To Take the Stall Further Away
lends the lie to the idea that straight men are full of bravado, physically confident and sexually unselfconscious.

The
Straight White Working Class
series reveals an unexpected thoughtfulness and sensitivity amongst the artist's cohort of British working class and American blue collar men.
